Founders

Malte Graf and Kai Alberding are founders of Garden's Best® GmbH.

Malte Graf is Managing Director of Peer Span GmbH. For over 18 years Peer-Span GmbH has been producing bedding according to the highest ecological standards for horse stalls. The commitment to high quality and purity of the products has made Peer-Span one of the market leaders in Germany.

As an economist and entrepreneur, Kai Alberding founded several innovative companies in the fields of renewable energy to identify, develop and market the most advanced thermochemical conversion processes in this field. This expertise makes Garden's Best® a qualified supplier of sustainable and clean energy, climate-friendly and CO2-negative solutions. Together with Malte Graf, he leads the development of production facilities in Germany and France as well as the identification of project opportunities in the fields of thermochemical conversion processes and biogenic carbon production.

The project "Garden's Best®" was developed by Kai Alberding and Malte Graf at the beginning of 2009.

Since 2014, the company's founders have decided on an intensive and application-oriented development in the areas of biochar and soil substrates, which allows the industrial-scale production of biochar by means of a specially developed pyrolysis technology, culture substrates, water- and nutrient storing soil substrates and organic fertilizers on the basis of 100% natural raw materials. The company name Garden's Best® was legally protected for this corporate content.

The manufacture of Garden's Best® products was carried out in several large-scale trials. This bio-cycle process is a milestone in the practical implementation of integrated material flow management and offers great potential for the future.

The Garden's Best® technology not only ensures the sustainable improvement of agricultural soils, but also creates the basis for significant regional added value from previously neglected material flows.
